Huntsman Cancer Institute at the (the U) is proud to celebrate two colleagues who received new endowed chair appointments. An additional faculty member has had his chair renewed. These endowed chairs, created through important philanthropic gifts, honor exceptional achievements of our faculty.
Endowed chairs commend cancer researchers who are advancing vital work in support of Huntsman Cancer Institute鈥檚 mission. They recognize academic distinction, promote excellence, and provide funds to advance cancer research.

2025 Newly Appointed Endowed Chairs
Brock O鈥橬eil, MD, urologic oncologist and researcher at Huntsman Cancer Institute and associate professor of surgery at the U, has been appointed the鈥疕untsman Cancer Institute Endowed Chair in Urologic Oncology.
鈥淭his appointment is really a testament to the collaborative spirit and dedication of our team,鈥 says O鈥橬eil. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an exciting opportunity to scale up our work鈥攚hether that鈥檚 through clinical trials, novel care delivery models, or training future leaders in urologic oncology. I鈥檓 honored to carry forward the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute.鈥
Jens Lohr, MD, PhD, hematologic oncologist and researcher at Huntsman Cancer Institute and professor of internal medicine at the U, has been appointed the鈥疕untsman Cancer Institute Presidential Endowed Chair in Hematologic Malignancies.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a privilege to be named to this endowed chair, and I view it as a responsibility to push harder for better therapies and better outcomes,鈥 says Lohr. 鈥淪upport like this gives us the flexibility to explore cutting-edge immunotherapies and accelerate the translation of discoveries into real-world impact for people facing blood cancers.鈥
Renewed Endowed Chair
Manish Kohli, MD, genitourinary oncologist and prostate cancer researcher at Huntsman Cancer Institute and professor of internal medicine at the U, has been renewed as the Jack R. and Hazel M. Robertson Presidential Endowed Chair.
The Robertsons gave generously to several areas of the 人妻中出视频 of Utah, including Huntsman Cancer Institute. Hazel Robertson, who passed away in 2017, had a lifelong love of nursing and a deep desire to help those in need.
"Being renewed as the Jack R. and Hazel M. Robertson Presidential Endowed Chair is both humbling and motivating," says Kohli. "Hazel Robertson鈥檚 legacy and generosity continue to inspire our work. This support enables us to keep pushing boundaries鈥攅specially in precision medicine and AI integration鈥攖o improve how we understand and treat cancer. I鈥檓 grateful to my colleagues and to the leadership for making this journey possible."
